Incorporated from parts of Montgomery Township in 1889, the borough of Rocky Hill is in Somerset County, New Jersey. At one time, the community was known as the Devil’s Featherbed because it was so difficult to travel its rocky terrain by horse and wagon. The borough is bordered by Montgomery and Franklin townships. The main road passing through Rocky Hill is County Route 518, which connects US Route 206 to Route 27.
