The township of South Harrison, in Gloucester County, New Jersey, was formed from portions of Harrison Township in 1883. The township borders Woolwich Township, Harrison Township, Elk Township, and Salem County. Harrisonville is an unincorporated community within South Harrison Township. Route 45, also known as Woodstown-Mullica Hill Road, cuts through the township from Pilesgrove Township to Harrison Township, County Route 538 crosses the northern part of the township, and County Route 581 crosses from Upper Pittsgrove Township to Harrion Township.
