Ventnor City, New Jersey is in Atlantic County. It is situated on Absecon Island, with Atlantic City to the northeast, and Margate City and Longport to the southwest. Although Ventnor was not incorporated as a city until 1903, the name of the community was chosen in 1889. Prior to becoming an independent city, Ventnor was part of Egg Harbor Township.
