Westfield is a town in Union County, New Jersey. Its downtown district, the original townsite, was settled in 1720 as part of the Elizabethtown Tract. Westfield was incorporated as a township in 1794, and was one of New Jersey’s original townships when it was reincorporated in 1798, becoming part of Union County in 1857. In 1903, Westfield incorporated as a town, replacing the township. Westfield is bordered by Clark, Cranford, Garwood, Mountainside, Scotch Plains, and Springfield. Neighborhoods within the town include Brightwood, Country Club Estates, The Gardens, Indian Forest, Kimball Avenue Historic District, Manor Park, Stonehenge, Stoneleigh Park, and Wychwood.
