Originally incorporated as West Paterson Borough in 1914, the Passaic County borough’s name was changed to Woodland Park in 2008, a reference to its wooded areas. Interstate 80 runs along the northwest corner of the borough for about one mile, and US Route 46 enters the borough from Little Falls Township, following its southern border with Little Falls for seven-tenths of a mile. The borough is located in northeastern New Jersey, about twenty miles west of New York City, and southwest of the City of Paterson. The Garret Mountain campus of Berkeley College is in Woodland Park.
