Sunland Park, New Mexico is a colonia in Doña Ana County, located at the foot of the Mount Cristo Rey, next to the Rio Grande River, and directly across from El Paso, Texas. Named for the Sunland Park Racetrack & Casino, the community was formerly known as Anapra, a name shared by its sister city, Puerto de Anapra, across the river in Chihuahua, Mexico.
