Tijeras is a village in Bernalillo County, New Mexico. The village is situated at the junction of Tijeras Canyon and Cedro Canyon, which leads south into the Manzano Mountains. Old Route 66 ran through Tijeras but the village was bypassed by I-40. The original inhabitants of the area were the ancient Puebloans, as a pueblo site has been excavated just outside of town.
