The New York City borough of Queens is geographically the largest of the five boroughs. It is situated further east than the other boroughs and is in Queens County and contains La Guardia and JFK airports as well as 18 other major airports, Flushing Meadows, and part of Long Island. Established in 1683, the county and borough was named for the Queen consort Catherine of Braganza, the Portuguese princess who married King Charles II.
