Aberdeen is a town in Moore County, North Carolina. The community's first European settlers were Scottish highlanders who came in the mid-1850s. The railroad came through in 1881, and its first post office was established in 1877, first known as Blue's Crossing. In 1888, the town's name was changed to Aberdeen. The town is located just west of the Fort Bragg Military Reservation, and is immediately adjacent to Pinebluff and Southern Pines.
