The city of High Point is located in the Piedmont Triad region of North Carolina, spanning four counties: Guilford, Davidson, Randolph, and Forsyth. The city is home to High Point University, and known for its furniture, textiles, and bus manufacturing industries. In the mid-18th century, High Point was known as a refuge for Pennsylvania Quakers who came to escape persecution, and in search of affordable land and opportunity.
