Buxton is a city in Traill County, North Dakota. Founded in Buxton Township in 1880, the settlement was situated along the Great Northern Railroad, and incorporated as a village in 1922, becoming a city in 1967. The small city was named for Thomas J. Buxton, a close friend and business associate of the city’s founder, Budd Reeve. The city is located along I-29, between Reynolds and Taft. Crookston is northeast of Buxton.
