Berea is a city in Cuyahoga County, Ohio. John Baldwin is credited with being one of the community’s founders. Baldwin prospered by transforming the sandstone along the banks of the Rocky River into grindstones and building stones. The community was named for the biblical Berea, chosen over Tabor by the flip of a coin. The city was founded in 1836, and is the home of Baldwin-Wallace College and the training facility for the Cleveland Browns.
