The City of Jackson is the seat of Jackson County, Ohio. Named for Andrew Jackson, a hero of the War of 1812 and later president, Jackson was established in 1817. Created by Brian Barnett, the comic strip, “The Apple Tower”, is largely based on features of Jackson, Ohio.
