The city of Moraine is in Montgomery County, within the Miami Valley region of Ohio, north of Cincinnati. The community was once part of Van Buren Township, then part of the city of Kettering. The area seceded from Kettering to form the new Moraine Township in 1953, incorporating as a municipality in 1957, later annexing parts of Miami and Jefferson townships.
