Founded in 1845, Ottoville, Ohio is a village in Putnam County. The northwestern Ohio community was originally known as Sixteen, as it was established on Section Sixteen of the Miami and Erie Canal. In 1880, its name was changed to Ottoville, to honor its founder, John Otto Bredeick.
