The Cuyahoga County city of Strongsville, Ohio is a suburb of Cleveland. The East Branch of the Rocky River flows through the city. Founded as part of the Connecticut Western Reserve, the community became a township in 1818, a village in 1923, and a city in 1961. Strongsville was named for John Stoughton Strong, the leader of the group that first settled the area.
