Medicine Park was founded by Oklahoma Senator Elmer Thomas in 1908 as a planned tourism resort. Its history has included such people as Will Rogers, Wiley Post, Bob Wills, Al Capone, Bonnie and Clyde, Pretty Boy Floyd, Colonel Jack Abernathy, Roy Rogers and Dale Evans. Located in Comanche County, Medicine Park was incorporated as a town in 1969.
