Bandon is a city on the south side of the mouth of the Coquille River in Coos County, Oregon. Settled in 1853 Bandon was incorporated in 1891, and named for its chief founder, George Bennett, who came from Bandon, Ireland. Prior to its incorporation, the community had been known as Averille.
