The Multnomah County city of Fairview is located in northwestern Oregon, near the Columbia River. Settled in the 1840s and 1850s, the settlement was initially known as Cleone because another Oregon community existed named Fairview at the time. When the other post office closed, its name was transferred to Fairview. The city was incorporated in 1908.
