Gaston is a small city in Washington County, Oregon. White settlers came into the area in the 1800s, but there were only seventy there during the 1860 census. In the early 1870s, stage and rail service were expanding in the region, and a stop on the Portland-St. Joseph line was named Gaston, for Joseph Gaston. The city was incorporated in 1914.
