Klamath Falls is the seat of Klamath County, Oregon, near the southern part of the state. Originally named Linkville when the town was founded by George Nurse in 1867, its name was changed to Klamath Falls in 1892. Klamath Falls has a high desert landscape, with the older part of the city located above natural geothermal springs, which have been used to heat homes and streets in the downtown area.
