Lowell is a city in Lane County, Oregon. The small city is known for its six landmark covered bridges and for the forests of the Cascade foothills surrounding the community. Settled in the early 1850s, its first post office was established in 1880, at which time the settlement was known as Cannon, which was to be changed to Lowell three years later to avoid confusion with Cannon Beach and Canyon City.
