Located along the Snake River at Oregon's border with Idaho, Ontario is the largest city in Malheur County, Oregon. Ontario was founded in 1883 by developers in anticipation of a planned railroad, and was named for one of the developer's home province of Ontario in Canada. Ontario was incorporated as a city in 1899.
