Situated on the south bank of the Columbia River, across from Kelso and Longview, Washington, Rainier is a city in Columbia, Oregon. Founded in 1851, the town was initially called Eminence, later changed to Fox's Landing. The city was incorporated in 1885, and named for Mount Rainier in Washington. The Lewis and Clark Bridge spans the Columbia River, linking the city to Longview, Washington.
