Sandy is a city in Clackamas County, Oregon. The community's first settlers were the Francis Revenue family, who arrived in 1853 and opened a trading post on the Barlow Road. Its first post office was established in 1873, and the city was incorporated in 1913. Sandy is named for the nearby Sandy River, which was described as the Quicksand River by Lewis and Clark.
