An incorporated borough in Blair County, Duncansville, Pennsylvania was founded by Samuel Duncan in 1830 when he bought land on the western bank of the stream which he called Duncansville. Jacob Walters was busy plotting land on the eastern bank, calling that settlement Walterstown. The two became convinced that they should put their rivalry aside and join, flipping a coin to see which name the combined settlement would go by. Duncan won.
