Settled in 1761 and incorporated in 1870, Jonestown, Pennsylvania is situated in Lebanon County. It was originally named Williamsburg. In 1813, politician Thomas Walker was supposed to vote on whether Jonestown or Lebanon would be the seat of Lebanon County. On voting day, two men from Lebanon took him to the Buck Hotel and bought him rum until he was too drunk to vote. Lebanon won by one vote and is the county seat.
