The community of Lake Ariel is situated in Wayne County in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Once known as Jonestown, the town, which started out with just two families, expanded with the benefit of the Pennsylvania Coal Company's Gravity Railroad. It was once the site of Lake Ariel Park, an amusement park which brought tourists flocking to the area.
