Although settled earlier Burrillville was established in 1730, and incorporated in 1806, named for James Burrill, Jr. who, while serving as State Attorney General, assisted in the establishment of the town. It is located in the northwest corner of Rhode Island, bordering both Connecticut and Massachusetts. The village centers of Harrisville, Pascoag, Oakland, Mapleville, Glendale, Mohegan, Wallum Lake, Bridgeton and Nasonville are within the Town of Burrillville.
