Located in Providence County, Rhode Island, North Providence is the smallest town, by area, in the smallest state in the United States, yet it has the eighth highest population of the state's thirty-nine cities and towns. Established in 1636 and incorporated in 1765, North Providence includes several villages and neighborhoods, such as Allendale, Centredale, Fruit Hill, Geneva, Greystone, Louisquisset, Lymansville, Marieville, and Woodville.
