Also known as DeBordieu Beach or DeBordieu Colony, DeBordieu is an incorporated community in Georgetown County, South Carolina. It is one of the oldest beachside communities on the east coast. Prior to the American Civil War, DeBordieu was at the center of the second largest rice-producing region in the world. Today, it is a gated community with a private golf and country club.
