Reevesville is a small town in Dorchester County, South Carolina. The town is believed to have been founded in the early 1800s near an Indian trail from Charles Town to Fort Charlotte, based on the number of arrowheads which have been found in the area. In 1837, the settlement was known as Grimes Town, named for the Grimes family, early settlers who started the first cemetery. Later, it became known as Reeves Station, for David Reeves, whose descendants remain in and around Reevesville today.
