Bristol, an independent city in the Commonwealth of Virginia, was originally named Goodson. It is Bristol, Tennessee's twin city and the principal city of the Kingsport–Bristol–Bristol, TN-VA Metropolitan Statistical Area. The city is also considered as the "Birthplace of Country Music."
