Troutville, a town in Botetourt County in the Commonwealth of Virginia, was settled in 1881 but had no name whatsoever. The earliest houses were then owned by George, Jim, and John Trout, brothers, after whom the town of Troutsville was eventually named. The town was established in 1956. It was changed to Troutville at some later date.
