Jackson is a town located along the central-eastern part of Washington County, Wisconsin. The Village of Jackson is partially located within the town. Prior to 1872, Jackson was one of three small hamlets located in the Towns of Jackson and Polk, neither of which appeared to be more important than the other. Then known as Riceville, the Village of Jackson experienced growth when a railroad depot was built there in 1872.
