Also known as fairies and by a variety of euphemisms, fairies are beings, usually thought to be shorter than humans, who possess magic properties, or a separate race of beings or spirits whom people have reported seeing for centuries. Fairies resemble a number of beings from other mythologies, which may or may not be related.
