Aberdeen also has several private hospitals, including Albyn Hospital, Woodend Hospital, the Royal Cornhill Institution, and the Priory Wellbeing Centre.

While Aberdeen's largest medical facilities are public, private hospitals generally offer reduced wait times, prompt service, better doctor-to-patient ratios, and cutting-edge medical technology.

Police and law enforcement in Aberdeen is largely the responsibility of Police Scotland, which has operations in Aberdeen through its North East Division. Fire protection services are provided by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, which serves all of Scotland, and. has stations in Aberdeen. The Scottish Ambulance Service provides emergency medical services to Aberdeen, as well as the remainder of Scotland.
