Conception Junction is a small city near the Platte River in Nodaway County, Missouri. The city was named for a railroad junction between the Wabash Railroad and the Chicago Great Western Railroad, so named for its location north of the unincorporated town of Conception, which is home to Conception Abbey, a monastery of the Swiss-American Congregation of the Benedictine Confederation of the Roman Catholic Church, founded in 1873. The two communities are connected by US Highway 136. Stanberry is to the southeast, Arkoe is to the west, and Ravenwood is to the north.
