Glenn Beck, controversial author, author, political radio host, and television network producer as well as a media star, has a nationally syndicated talk radio show. He has had television programs, on CNN and on the Fox News Channel. Born in Everett, Washington on February 10, 1964, he was raised Roman Catholic but converted to Mormonism as an adult. His mother drowned when he was 15, along with a male companion, in Puget Sound; Beck describes her death as a suicide. He is a recovering addict and alcoholic who has been sober since 1994.
