Dennis Haysbert, born in San Mateo, California on June 2, 1954, is the son of a mother who is homemaker and a father who was a deputy sheriff and an airline security officer. The eighth of nine children, Dennis was raised Baptist. He has been acting since 1979 with credits in such television shows as "The Unit" and "24" and is the official spokesman for a nationwide insurance company. He is twice divorced and has two children from his second wife.
