Avril Lavigne Kroeger is better known as Avril Lavigne, and she was born September 27, 1984 in Belleville, Ontario, Canada. She had her first record contract by the age of 16 and was the youngest female soloist to have a number one album in the UK. She is a citizen of France by virtue of her father's citizenship. She was married to musician Deryck Whibley in July 2006 and divorced in 2010. In July 2012, she married Chad Kroeger, frontman for Nickelback in the south of France. She announced her separation from him via Instagram on September 2, 2015.
