The northernmost of the British Virgin Islands, Anegada is the only inhabited island in the chain formed from coral and limestone. As the island was not of volcanic origin, its terrain is flat and low, rather than mountainous. Anegada is the second largest of the British Virgin Islands in size, but it is the least populated of the main islands. Most of its residents live in the island's main town, The Settlement.
