Daleville, Alabama, is located in Dale County. It is known as the "Gateway to Fort Rucker," due to the fact that it is just south of the army post. Because it was the original county seat, it was called "Dale's Court House," when it was founded around 1830 by men who fought in the Creek Indian War.
