The Municipality of Anchorage is commonly known as Anchorage, and it is a consolidated city-borough in Alaska. The largest city in the state, it was founded as one of the Alaska Railroad's construction port which was under construction from 1915 to 1923. In 1964, it was the epicenter of the 9.2 Good Friday earthquake which killed 115 and caused nearly 2 billion dollars worth of damage.
