Bel Air is a gated community located in the hills of the Westside area of Los Angeles, California. Bordered by Brentwood, Westwood, Beverly Hills and Sherman Oaks, Bel Air is located about seventeen miles west of downtown Los Angeles. It includes some of the foothills of the Santa Monica Mountains, and borders UCLA, along Sunset Boulevard. Although governmentally a part of the City of Los Angeles, Bel Air has its own police and fire departments.
