Cameron Park is a relatively new community in El Dorado County, California. Although the original inhabitants of the region were the Niesnan branch of the Maidu Indians, major development didn't begin until the 1950s, when ranches began to appear in the area, some of which have been subdivided into residential neighborhoods.
