Red Bluff, the county seat of Tehama County in California, is located on the banks of the Sacramento River. Most of the Indian population in the region died due to a malaria epidemic in the 1930s. The settlement was founded in 1850 but was called Leodoia. It was later known as Covertsburg, and in 1854, it became Red Bluffs. The city was incorporated in 1876.
