San Bruno, California, is a city in San Mateo County on the San Francisco peninsula. Included in the city are the San Francisco International Airport and Golden Gate National Cemetery. It started life as a stop on the Butterfield stagecoach line and an inn called Thorp’s Place, and later Uncle Tom’s Cabin. After the 1906 earthquake, development in the city took off.
