San Clemente California is a city in Orange County. It was named in honor of San Clemente Island, part of the Channel Islands, which was itself named for Pope Clement I, who was also known as Saint Clement of Rome. The city gained worldwide notoriety as Richard Nixon’s Western White House, which President Nixon called “La Casa Pacifica.”
