West Covina, California is situated 20 miles east of downtown Los Angeles, and is in Los Angeles County. It is in the San Gabriel Valley, a suburb of the bigger city, and was originally incorporated in 1923 due to the efforts of 507 residents in the area who did so in order to prevent the City of Covina from establishing a sewage farm within the current city limits.
